We have started the year learning how to work together in the computer lab. Our friend Zig Zag the tiger, keeps a watchful eye on students who do amazing work, help others or come up with great ideas. Each week, he chooses a student from each class who becomes the technology expert for the day. Later, the Technology Experts will be invited for a lunchtime of fun in the computer lab.
Creating
We have been creating and designing portfolio pages using Comic Life to put in their portfolios or around the classroom. We have been learning how to take photos and import those photos into our designs. We have also learned how to add text and put that into our pictures.
Communicating and Collaborating
We have begun creating podcasts using GarageBand. We have created short podcasts about books that we have read. We have learned how to record audio tracks, add music and effects to make our podcasts more entertaining. We are doing these podcasts with partners so we have to learn how to collaborate with each other.
